"SOLAIRES"
Nuit Blanche Paris
7 October 2017

Monumental exhibition specially designed for the 16th edition of Nuit Blanche in Paris
Saint-Sulpice Church
From sunset to sunrise: from 7:16 PM on October 7th to 7:59 AM the following day.
Press release and media kit available upon request: richardkiwerski@gmail.com
« Solaires » features several hundred paintings displayed in a monumental and conceptual manner under the nave of Saint-Sulpice Church. An immersive and dynamic installation that combines design, graphics, architecture, vibrant colors, soundscapes, and intimate lighting to immerse the spectator in the artistic and scientific world of Ryszard Kiwerski, renowned painter of the sun and poster artist.
Bringing the optical illusion of an oversized stained glass window to life and illustrating with precision the imperceptible passage of time:
by dressing the columns of the nave with Parapeinture paper panels and transforming the church's thousands of chairs into easels — stacked, nested, assembled, combined into a labyrinth…

The 16th edition of “Nuit Blanche” will take place in Paris during the night of October 7 to 8, 2017.
Since 2002, “Nuit Blanche” has been a celebration of contemporary art in Paris. It takes over the streets and monuments of the capital from dusk to dawn every first Saturday in October. Its ability to transform the city has made it a major cultural event where several million visitors discover dozens of international artists for free.
The 2017 edition is curated by Charlotte Laubard. An art historian and exhibition curator (P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center New York, Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, CAPC Museum of Contemporary Art in Bordeaux) who co-founded the Swiss Society of New Patrons under the aegis of the Fondation de France.
The “Solaires” project, under the artistic direction and curation of Olga Kiwerski, is an original creation for Nuit Blanche 2017.
Luminous sublimation created in partnership with Airstar Light.
With support from Galerie 1831, Catawiki, The Polish Institute, Solar Sound System, Ze Place To See, the Art, Culture & Faith Association, Supermagnete, the Paris Observatory, the Nuit Blanche mission, and the Paris City Hall.
The artwork will be activated and open to the public from 7:16 PM on October 7th to 7:59 AM on October 8th.
Some of the 500 Parapeintures exhibited will remain visible for a few more days after Nuit Blanche ends.
