Art enthusiasts driven by a desire for sharing and artistic encounters, Aude and Jean-Louis Herlédan decided in 2015 to create a new gallery located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris. They are not just art dealers; they consider themselves collectors and patrons of contemporary art. Galerie 1831 has another unique aspect: Aude is, first and foremost, a visual artist who presents her own work. The gallery organizes thematic exhibitions, true artistic projects designed with resident artists and friends. The themes of the exhibitions are chosen to foster a continuous dialogue between artists and collectors; together, they speak of passions, inspirations, with ease and simplicity…

Galerie 1831 mainly showcases contemporary artists. Significant space is dedicated to emerging artists, with regular exhibitions. However, it's not uncommon to find works by Charchoune, Calder, Miró, or a drawing by Picasso… "favorites of the house."

Galerie 1831 collaborates with several Foundations and showcases international artists in partnership with a network of friendly galleries worldwide.
